Kapil's : Understanding of Electricity Billing Computation 2015-2016 for Domestic like Sector-44.

Date: December 15, 2015
Respected Residents Sector-44,
Subject: Understanding of Electricity Billing Computation 2015-2016
for Domestic like Sector-44.
Jai Hind,
Below, Two Screen Shots of Relevant Portions of Power Tariff Applicable for Sector-44, Noida as power supplier is PVVNL. ,

A: Example:
Let’s assume our December 2015 meter reading is
KWH: 2967
KVAH: 3037
Sanctioned Load: 14 KW

B: “Electricity Charges” in Billing Details Colum
0-150 KWH/month @4.40 = Rs.660.00
151-300 KWH/month @4.95 = Rs.742.50
301-500 KWH/month @5.60 = Rs. 1120.00
501-2967 KWH/month @6.20 = Rs. 15295.40
Total For 2967 KWH/month is = Rs. 17817.90

C: “Fixed/Demand Charges” in Billing Details Colum
Sectioned Load in this case = 14KW x (Rs. 90.00 /KW/Month) = Rs. 1260.00
Note: If Electricity Drawn is more that section load i.e. 15.6KW in any month then 15.6 x 90.00 = Rs. 1404.00

D:      B+C = D
Means Rs. 17817.90 + Rs. 1260.00 = Rs. 19077.90

E: “Electricity Duty” in Billing Details.
This is 5% of D   , Which is Rs. 19077.90 x5/100 = Rs. 953.89

F: Regulatory Surcharge 1
This is 2.84% of D, Which is Rs. 19077.90 X 2.84/100 = Rs. 541.81

G:  Regulator Surcharge 2 (Newly added burden on Consumers in 2015-2016)
This is 4.28% of D, Which is Rs. 19077.90 X 4.28/100 = Rs. 816.53

H:  “Current Payable” = B+C+E+F+G
Rs. 17817.90 + Rs. 1260.00 + Rs. 953.89 + Rs. 541.84 + Rs. 816.53 = Rs. 21390.16

Please note that Sector44 is Experiencing  the difference in Bill Amount Given by Meter Reader & Internet online bill , reason being that meter  reader’s machine software is not updated With Newly introduced Regulatory Charges i.e. F & G .

Thanks
Kapil Jain, C-145, Sector-44, Noida

PS:
Please Note , Our Billing Unit is KWH , Not KVAH in any case , because our consumption is purely domestic purpose , not commercial in any case ,  Very Important to note that Meter Reader of Department is Taking both Readings, Henceforth The earlier misconception regarding the effect of  Capacitor on / off on Billed Amount  is not applicable in our case. Having Said that It is always advisable to Maintain Power Factor in Between 0.85 to 1.00 in NATIONAL INTERST to make power supply clean & pure as well as healthy power grid, as newly installed meter is recording KWH as well as KVAH, which required Capacitor On in Summers with Air Conditioners Load & Capacitors off When Air Conditioners are not in use.
